As reported from the German capital, the current weather is not made for paste; it is almost too cold, but it’s dry at least. There are 3 words of hope and tremble: no snow please. But winter has just started and who knows what the future will bring.
I had already noticed the paste-ups and stickers of ORBLE during my last visit in Berlin. My Berlin friend has found a number of new pieces during his last walk through Friedrichshain. Magdalena Wiegner aka ORBLE was born in Karlsruhe/Germany 1982 and grew up in Nuremberg. She is a freelance illustrator, painter and comic drawer, […]
A lot of artists have worked for advertising; who wonders, artists have to pay rents too. The question, if an artwork loses quality when it was made for promotion purposes only, is often hotly debated. Some photographers find it under their dignity to take pictures of advertising walls. Me and my Berlin friend certainly do […]
My Berlin friend comes with a surprise for the weekend. Guests are welcome irrespective of whether or not they are going to bring gifts. It seems that Drew Straker aka THE MURALIST, graffiti artist based in Perth, Australia, is in Berlin. He has left some gifts in Friedrichshain. Straker probably was the first artist to […]
This day I had a date for lunch with my Berlin friend. We agreed that a regular meal in a common restaurant was boring and doesn’t meet our requirements.
OK – it will take more time to get an overview! Paste-up festival at Deutsche Oper Berlin is beeing worked on. In the meantime I’ll show a stunning wall created by JOYS & VOLKADERGOLDENEREITER x Henning Marten Feil aka NAUTIC NOBBY3000 & SOKAR UNO at RAW last year. This wall seems to be highly respected; […]
Felix & Matthias Gephart have been guests in Essen for Hafendampf several times; that is why I know about the brothers and their work. My Berlin friend has found a work of them at the former RAW property in Berlin-Friedrichshain in July and I have to confess that I again have changed the colour of […]
I don’t know if this piece of EL BOCHO has been painted or glued to that wall. All I know is, that this piece is ancient history now. It was located in Friedrichshain, at the premises of a former car service station, which housed the techno club „Morlox“ until 2014, when it has fallen victim […]
From now on under this headline I will post more or less frequently the pictures of a Berlin based friend. He has no real wish to create a blog, or to have his own homepage, but wants to share his pictures. We have agreed to show his pictures in the context of this blog, as […]
In Berlin Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain I came across a number of stunning 3D installations, made of styrofoam. Those installations (styro-cuts) are rare, once installed, they are taken away soon, as they have many adorers.
