I love the backyards of Dortmund! But the crux is, you can rarely see what they are hiding from the street and you have to go inside. Into each one (and there are many), which takes time! I don’t know how many times I’ve walked past this one in Kesselstraße on my rambles through Dortmund’s Nordstadt.
I’m sure I would have walked past it a lot more often without paying attention, if it hadn’t been for the mural at Kesselstraße 51 that André Trafic, Dortmund based artist with Portuguese roots, left there in 2022 for the „Radius“ project. Where I had expected a mural, I was confronted with three that were still unknown to me. I love the backyards of Dortmund!
