Would you believe that Essen is a well-known player in Northrhine Westfalia’s clubscene? In the early 1990s, the discotheque „Siggi’s Kalei“ was cult. Later Kay Shanghai took over and founded Hotel Shanghai, which is a location dedicated mainly to electro music. The facade of the club is designed frequently and has got it’s newest facelifting 2022 by Gabor Doleviczenyi (Zinnober).
