The new Galerie Von Veltum in Gelsenkirchen Ückendorf only opened in November 2019. Then Murphy’s Law came into play and everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Less than a year later, there was water damage in the old shop in Bergmannstraße, which made the gallery unusable for a long time. In September 2021, the gallery moved to Gelsenkirchen Buer, where it is currently housed in Beni Veltum’s studio flat.
Since the end of 2019, there has been an art gallery in public space in Gelsenkirchen-Buer, also affectionately known as Beverly Buer. Together with the Robinienhof real estate and location association, a concept was developed to breathe new life into that spot. Against the backdrop of large-format façade paintings and a lighting design by Manuel Moreno, which creates a very special atmosphere after dark, a colourful flower market takes place on Saturdays.
