In cooperation with the Department of Culture of the City of Gelsenkirchen, Gelsenkirchen’s cityscape is to be upgraded. To this end, 4 to 6 large and highly visible walls at highly frequented locations throughout the city are to be decorated with high-quality murals. One of the walls acquired so far, located at Gelsenkirchen main station, has already been redesigned by a team of several local sprayers.

The first completed wall of the project is located at the taxi rank at main station and is intended to remind people of the old Gelsenkirchen main station, which was once demolished. The mural, designed by the local sprayer DAN, a member of DRK crew, in cooperation with a gang of friends, shows the former station building as the central eye-catcher in the middle of the wall on an area of 20 x 5 m in addition to graffiti elements on both edges.
