In times of Corona travelling by public transport over longer distances is difficult and stressful, if not impossible, which moves Berlin and Kreuzberg far away and unreachable – initially. So it’s natural, to look around, to find something nearby, some kind of replacement. In Essen, the neighbouehood around Isenbergplatz is, what comes closest to my Kreuzberg feeling. For those of you who like it a bit untidy, seemingly chaotic and brushed against the grain, with mismatched furniture, and street art mixed with kitsch, surrounded by an assorted crowd enjoying cappuccino and beer, here you are right. It seems that even Düsseldorf based artists love the local atmospere and appreshiate the place with their pieces.
