What would Shakespeare's "Hamlet" be without the skull?

Corona crisis and no end in sight at all. Everyone has to deal with contact ban and how to protect those people, who are part of the groups at risk, the older ones and people with certain pre-existing conditions. Too much time to think about risks, illness – and death. That’s how I got the skulls. The skull is an old international symbol for death, the defiance of death and danger. In graffiti and street art it is a common stylistic device and so it’s no wonder, that I have taken a lot of pictures of all types of skulls in the course of the years. Too much to show them all in the context of this post. And so I have spent most of the day feeding a new Instagram hashtag #graffitiSchädel.
