Words are powerful
Graffiti writers use to spend their time practising, to find their style and perfect it, mostly writing one word only – their name. The artists shown in this exhibition, already have found their personal style and even though a reader like me, on the level of a first-year pupil, is unable to read their inscriptions, their personal style is unmistakeable – even when writing something different (exceptionally)
For the young Düsseldorf gallery „Take A Butchers“ their long cherished dream of a pure writing – and calligraffiti exhibition has come true. 30 national and international artists from 15 different countries followed their call and have created pieces showing ONE WORD only. Every artist was asked to write only one word in their special and unique style, the word that summarises the year 2020 for them.
