Witten has got a brandnew Hall of Fame

Free spaces for creativity are rare and in times of gentrification and housing shortage, one expects free areas to be reduced, but to get a new. So the opening of a new hall of fame in our region is always a huge thing and a reason to celebrate a party.

In the case of a hall of fame that means, the whole graffiti community of the region assembles and ensures a spectacular primal coating. This event was scheduled for a long time, but unfortunately I was prevented from being there. And so I headed for Witten last Monday, which was the next opportunity. And it was overdue, because the hall is frequented and the first erosion of the primal 040.JPGcoating had just begun. Witten, which  is a town situated in the Ruhr valley in the south east of the Ruhr Area, has got its first hall of fame at a footpath between Crengeldanz- and Brückstraße. The 400m path runs parallel with the railway track, alongside the premises of several companies. And as ever, I had my problems to read all those tags and inscriptions. But besides that, there were a lot of pieces of well known crews and writers, to pay respect to the new hall.
