Some months ago I stumbled across a website which deals with art in public space in the Ruhr Area and shows the positions on a map.
I was delighted by the chance to save time and effort finding pieces and I discovered that there is a mural designed by CAPTAIN BORDERLINE nearby. Is it possible? A mural designed by this famous artist collective in my hometown? I immediately started to catch a glimpse, but what shall I say, that damned mural wasn’t to be found in this place shown on the map. I was frustrated; Richard Wagner Straße is hellishly long! Without an exact position it is nearly impossible to find the mural. But patience – all will end well if you wait long enough! This days walk brought me to the end of my search and I stumbled (by accident) onto the mural.
By the way: did I already mention that I have made my own map now? There is a cool project with a world wide map of street art called Street Art Cities. The community is dedicated to creating the perfect platform to discover all murals worldwide. They are building the most advanced, easy to use and comprehensive street art collection in every city on the planet. The best is: they share their platform to all the street art maniacs to document art in every city. They want the world to know where to find these gems and the stories behind them. Don’t hesitate to join this magnificent community.
