One thing is for sure – the change

I was very excited to find Madame Medusa in my hometown in 12/2016. This paste-up, made by DECYCLE, was highly respected by Essen’s street art community for a long time at that spot downtown, at Viehofer Straße, but in the course of the time it suffered from wind and weather and was very taken over […]

OVAO x HAER + CHUCK NORRIS = ???

Pieces of OVAO and HAER are rare in Essen, but from time to time they pay us a flying visit and again disappear at night and fog. What stays are extraordinary pieces done with an instantly recognizable handwriting. My first thought, seeing the newest piece, showing Chuck Norris, was: Oh my! Did he die too? Remembering […]

A walk in the park

Cologne is a big city, regardless of whether on the right or on the left bank of the Rhine. My walks in Cologne often get out of control, because mostly I discover something unsuspected to make my plans upset.

BOOM FOR REAL – Frankfurt’s Art Hall Schirn gives an overview of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work

I would like to draw your attention to the current show „BASQUIAT. BOOM FOR REAL“ at the Schirn in Frankfurt. It is on show until 27th May. And what has that got to do with Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse? Well – they all are members of 27 Club which is a list of popular musicians, […]

One thing is for sure – the change

JOINY – That’s just between us …

… I can’t promise anything In 2013 the character JOINY was born. All I know about the mother/father of JOINY is, she/he is Cologne based. The girl Joiny surprises with her innocent big wide eyes and her cool slogans in colonian dialect. She always has something like a wand in her hands; I suppose it […]

Wholecar

S11 normally runs between Düsseldorf Airport and Bergisch Gladbach. To see it in Essen at main station is quite unusual, even under police protection. I assume that it wasn’t the graffiti which should have been protected.

MOC

During a visit in Dortmund in May 2017, I came across some very impressive stencils in black & white, of an artist, completely new to me. I don’t know anything about him or her, except the signature, which is MOC. My latest visit in Dortmund, for the MADC solo show, again brought me down Adlerstraße […]
