And, as if we don’t have enough fast food chains in town, a new branch of „Frittenwerk“ has been opened on 17th November at Porschekanzel. And why should this be mentioned in a blog mainly focused on street art?
Essen has got a new eyecatcher facade. Düsseldorf based restaurant company „Frittenwerk“ in collaboration with Essen, the European Green Capital, have launched the project „Green Wall Essen“ which was realized at Porschekanzel / Kettwiger Straße. The boring grey facade of 100 square meter has been transformed to a vertical garden. The species were selected to grow at the shadow side of the building and the plants had been cultivated vertically and installed then by a Dutch company. Currently the plants are in hibernation, that is why they are slightly bedraggled-looking; but already in spring the vertical garden will blossom in its full potential – hopefully!
