Pottporus Festival shows INFUSION#9 – Group show with BERLIN KIDZ, THINK and NIKER ABM

004The connection between Duisburg and Dortmund once was an important and historically significant railway in Germany. The Cologne-Minden Railway Company opened a station in Herne in 1847, and that was before Bochum has got its own station. The Old Waiting Room at the station Herne, which has been restored and reopened this spring, is the location for an outstanding group show. The exhibition series „INFUSION“ begins its 10th year 032and as always, it deals with street art and graffiti. It shows the work of three artist collectives, BERLIN KIDZ (Berlin), THINK (Ruhr Area) and NIKER ABM (Osnabrück) who share common roots in New York City style writing and express themselves in their own language. BERLIN KIDZ speak for themselves by seizing spectacular spots. They capture facades with 063their paintings by roping down in spectacular action. The required equipment is on show. Did they obtain the permission to paint that pillar? THINK are based in our area and probably well known. You just need to visit Hagen main station and you cannot miss their distinctive style. Without outlines or highlights their pieces are reduced to a minimum but always 021recognizable. Unfortunately I still have not succeeded to take a picture of one of their terrific trains. When I saw the pieces of NIKER ABM, my immediate reaction was to wonder; where did they get the steel plates including windows complete with sealing? I really must say that I thoroughly enjoy the results of their work.
