Cologne is a challenge in these days of TRANSURBAN. There is a huge amount on offer for every taste; music, performances, exhibitions and so much more – I don’t know where to run first! But one thing is already clear: you cannot have everything and have to make decisions; so brave the gap!
This time I definitely had planned to visit 30works gallery for INNERFIELDS solo show „Blind Spot“ – the gallery was closed when I was there two weeks ago. And so I started this days walk at Neusser Strasse 242, to have a look at the fiinished mural of INNERFIELDS, as an appetizer for the exhibition. INNERFIELDS is a Berlin based collective of the three artists Jakob Bardou, Veit Tempich and Holger Weißflog who work together since 10 years. They are regarded as aknowledged experts for large-scale art projects in public space and use diverse media and styles, ranging from spray can to gold leaf, from realism to abstract design and from interior walls to huge house fronts. Their exhibition highlights the conflict of man and mobile techniques. Smartphones and tablets are depicted as empty white spaces, at least one „Blind Spot“ in evey painting of lonely people.
