Ethnologist Henning Christoph launched his private museum „Soul of Africa“ in Rüttenscheid in a former surgery on 85 square metres in 2000. 85 square meters, that means very little storage space for his rather unique collection of thousands of objects of traditional African cultures and religions. In 2015 it was announced that energy supplier RWE will provide the old power station at Martinstraße / Alfredstraße for the extension of the museum to 500 square meters. After all the move of the museum seems to be right around the corner, as the building has been given a fresh look during the last weeks.
